Europe Pays? – The Cost of U.S. Tariffs

On 26 November 2025, we hosted the guest lecture “Europe Pays? The Cost of the U.S. Tariffs” at @uzh.ch

🧑‍🎓 The event brought together 100 students eager to learn from leading experts.
Our honorable speakers — Dr. Martin Dahinden (former Swiss Ambassador to the U.S.), Prof. Ralph Ossa (UBS Foundation Professor of Economics, University of Zurich; former WTO Chief Economist), and Luc Schnurrenberger (Deputy Head of the Foreign Economic Affairs Division at Economiesuisse) — delivered insightful presentations and took part in an engaging discussion with students.

🌍 Together, we explored the complexities of current tariff policies, the perspectives of the U.S. administration, and the broader implications for global and Swiss trade. Tariffs and trade deals are far from trivial — one must carefully consider economic repercussions and reputational risks before taking action.
The event concluded with a networking Apéro in a great atmosphere.
